Bas Haring keynote speaker at Opening Ceremony

We are delighted to share with you that Bas Haring, professor in the Public Understanding of Science at Leiden University and “people’s philosopher” will be the keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of our conference. He is famous for his fresh and accessible way of showing that science and philosophy can be understood by everyone. During his presentation, he will philosophize with us about Rural Geographies in Transition. His lectures aim at letting people think “Hmmm… interesting. I have to think about this a bit longer.”

Bas Haring is author of several books, such as the children’s book Cheese and the Theory of Evolution and the book Why biodiversity loss is not a disaster.
